SPELLER METCALFE RELEASES 2014-15 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT

The report outlines our commitment to sustainability across five key sections; carbon, waste, community, BIM and added value – all falling under the three pillars of sustainability – economic, social and the environment.

Dan Gamson, Environmental Manager and responsible for the latest report details its importance:

"This isn't just a piece of paper to say how Speller Metcalfe is a 'green contractor'. We have a genuine commitment to all things sustainable and this report details not just our achievements but our targets for the coming year.

"Our aim is to be as transparent as possible to ensure we are continually improving and working with those who form both part of our projects, and those who are directly affected by our works to lessen our environment impacts and improve on our social and economic commitments.

"Key points include developing an environmental training programme to enhance the knowledge of site-based staff and improve best practice, diverting at least 85% of waste from landfill and a continued commitment to innovation such as Building Information Modelling to improve efficiency and encourage collaborative working.
