Thomas Dudley is a market-leading bathroom and washroom products manufacturer based in the heart of the West Midlands, delivering plastic moulding, innovative bathroom products and iron castings from their Dudley site on the prominent Birmingham New Road.
As part of the future vision for their growing company, Speller Metcalfe has created an impressive mixed-use three-storey office block and showroom to bring their facilities up to date, with the new building replacing a partly demolished old metal building. One of the main challenges of the project was dealing with two existing mine shafts which, following approval from the coal authority, had to be drilled and grouted and then filled with concrete slurry.
The new three-storey, steel framed building now houses a head office, customer care centre and a state-of-the-art interactive and digital showroom. Speller Metcalfe was also responsible for all on-site infrastructure including retaining walls, roads, car parking and building services.
