OFFICIAL OPENING OF £2.4M REFURBISHMENT OF LEDBURY SWIMMING POOL
The £2.4m refurbishment project, carried out by contractor Speller Metcalfe, includes an upgrade and extension to the existing pool, new sauna and steam room, a workout studio and a new fitness suite with double the number of training stations.
The remodelling of Ledbury Swimming Pool is part of a scheme of refurbishment works by Speller Metcalfe across multiple sites operated by Halo Leisure in Herefordshire, including facilities in Leominster, Ross-on-Wye and Hereford.
Bill Cave, Small Works Director at Speller Metcalfe, says: “As a local building contractor, it has been fantastic working on such an exciting leisure development. The modernisation of the centre has not only resulted in fantastic facilities for members but also created opportunities for employment and investment in the local community.”
Commenting on the success of the project, Cllr Brian Wilcox, Chairman of the Council said: “The transformation of the leisure centre is truly remarkable, it’s still hard to think that you are in the same centre.
“It is a true testament to the hard work and determination of the staff and the community that this project has come together to create such a fantastic resource, benefiting all the community, young and old.”
