HELP TURN ON A LIGHT THIS CHRISTMAS

Currently undertaking a major extension which will provide an additional day hospice, support and education facilities for the Herefordshire hospice, Speller Metcalfe has donated a large, outdoor Christmas tree to provide residents with some festive decorations during the Christmas period.

As part of the Christmas tree gift, the building contractor is looking to the general public to sponsor the Christmas tree lights, with all funds raised being donated to the hospice.

“This is a particularly poignant fundraising scheme for Speller Metcalfe, as we have close ties to the hospice,” says Steve Speller, Joint MD at Speller Metcalfe. “One of our Project Manager’s, Bob Shenton, was sadly taken ill in 2012 and passed away peacefully at St Michael’s. We can only extend our gratitude to the wonderfully dedicated staff and support that was offered to him and his family and know that these new facilities, along with any fundraising achieved, will offer support to families in their most difficult times.”

Because of the positive experience of both Bob and his family, his wife Ruth continues to maintain a close relationship with the hospice: “Bob had many friends and family visit him at the hospice, including Speller Metcalfe staff who very much understand the magnitude and positive impact that these newly built areas will have on the residents,” said Ruth, who alongside local friends has herself raised close to £500 for the hospice earlier this year. “Any fundraising we can do to help the hospice is certainly a worthwhile cause.”

If you would like to sponsor a Christmas light, there are close to 200 lights to sponsor, with a minimum of £5 donation per light. Please email kim.davidson@spellermetcalfe.com for a sponsorship form or send a cheque made out to St Michael’s Hospice, and post to Kim Davidson, PR Manager, Speller Metcalfe, Enigma Business Park, Malvern, Worcester, WR14 1GQ. You will receive a certificate as a thank-you for your donation.
