COMMUNITY CENTRE BRINGS TOGETHER NEW DEVELOPMENT

The centre, which will be run by the local YMCA charity, provides two full-sized football pitches built to Sport England national standard, both which allow for drainage of excessive rainwater to ensure the pitches can be used in all weathers. Changing facilities, toilets, a kitchen area and activities spaces will be available in the Centre itself.

James Williams, Facilities and Outreach Coordinator for YMCA in Worcestershire, said: “This is a fantastic centre for the local area, and a £400 donation by Speller Metcalfe has already been put to good use buying items for the centre including much needed furniture.

“We hope the centre will become a big success, and we will always welcome the support from local businesses and people.”

Matt Brown, Living Division Manager at Speller Metcalfe, said: “These facilities are an important feature for the housing development, and will become a central hub for social and sports meetings.

“While it is important to meet the undersupply of housing across the region, it is just as important to ensure local residents can become part of a community with facilities that meet their needs.”
