TAKE A TOUR IN NATIONAL CONSTRUCTION WEEK
The event spans the entire construction industry through nine major exhibitions that champion best practice and knowledge sharing across one of the UK’s biggest industries.
Part of this remit is to discuss the widening skills gap the industry faces, with more support than ever now available for those looking to join both site-based and professional roles.
To help support UK Construction Week, Midlands-based contractor Speller Metcalfe is opening up some of their sites in the West Midlands and further afield throughout the week to invite members of the local public to undertake a site tour, talk about the challenges faced at site level and find out more about construction and the opportunities available.
“We want to open up our sites to give people of all age’s access to what construction means on a site level,” says Des O’Neill, Managing Director of Malvern and Wolverhampton at Speller Metcalfe.
“As an industry we offer opportunities for all, and although integral to our industry, it’s not simply the trade services people may typically associate with construction.
“Architects, 3D designers, lawyers, PR and marketing, facilities managers – the list really is endless and we hope that by inviting people to see what we do, it will spark interest and engagement during a week when construction is being highlighted by the entire industry.”
Visits will be taking place at:

- Kidderminster Health Centre, Coventry Street, Kidderminster – Friday, 9th October, 11am
