Speller Metcalfe awarded place on £1.6bn healthcare decarbonisation framework

Speller Metcalfe has been named as one of the 49 construction firms awarded places on Pagabo’s new £1.6bn healthcare decarbonisation framework.

Running for four years, the framework will include projects such as the installation of renewable energy sources, specialist heating, cooling and ventilation systems and fabric upgrades.

Great Ormond Street Hospital will serve as the healthcare sector-specialist contracting authority.

Benefits of the framework include the client’s ability to directly approach contractors to self-deliver or bring in supply chain partners to deliver schemes, work up costs and undertake retrofit assessments.

Speller Metcalfe has secured a place on Lot 1 for projects up to £1M in both the West Midlands and South West, and a further place on Lot 2 for projects between £1-5M in the South West.

Matthew Bailey, Divisional Director at Speller Metcalfe said: “We’re delighted to have been appointed to two lots of the new Pagabo healthcare decarbonisation framework in our key operating area. We know this is a great opportunity to continue our successful delivery of healthcare schemes and take a collaborative approach to construction.”

Speller Metcalfe has been on various PAGABO frameworks for the past five years. The contractor also has a place on Pagabo’s Medium Works framework and on their new The Refit and Refurbishment frameworks, having delivered schemes through these frameworks for a number of clients such as Hereford and Worcestershire Fire and Rescue Services and Warwickshire County Council.

A second decarbonisation framework is due to come out soon which will focus on all other sectors, excluding health.
