Construction is underway on the transformation of Partington’s leisure centre on Chapel Lane, creating a modern community facility focused on health, wellbeing and active lifestyles.
The new facility, which will be called move Partington, will include a swimming pool, sports hall, café, fitness studios with 40 exercise stations, and dedicated health and wellness facilities, providing improved opportunities for the local community to stay active and connected.
The £20.3 million project is supported by £18.3 million of Levelling Up funding and a further £2 million investment from Sport England. The new centre will replace the existing 1970s leisure facility and is due to complete in 2028.
Speller Metcalfe are working in partnership with Trafford Council, Trafford Leisure, Sport England and the wider project team to deliver the new facility as part of the wider Partington Sports Village development.
