SPELLER METCALFE SECURE TOP SPOT ON WEST MIDLANDS CONTRACTOR FRAMEWORK

Given the level of competition seen off during a rigorous pre-qualification and tender process, this is indeed a remarkable accomplishment for a contractor of our size and marks another key stage for the growth of the Speller Metcalfe Group and our reputation in the marketplace.

Having scored highly across all the performance criteria determining the framework selection, we see this award as further recognition that our collaborative working principles and ability to provide best value are exactly the right qualities to meet today's employers requirements.

The framework appointment further consolidates our progressive growth through the current recession period, providing security and opportunity for our employees and wider dependant supply chain partners.

Cllr Stephen Clee, Worcestershire County Council's Cabinet Member of Corporate Services (pictured above – far right) said: "The Contractor Framework brings a range of benefits; for the three firms it gives them added security of knowing they will be delivering their share of big County Council property contracts. For the County Council it delivers significant cost savings in procurements costs, ensures early contractor engagement in projects, more timely and efficient programme delivery, reduced overall construction costs and greater predictability of outcomes."

The Contractor Framework commenced at the end of August this year. Our first project is for the construction of Defford Storage Facility for West Mercia Police Authority valued at £5.2 million and scheduled to start on site in the Winter.

Stephen Speller, Joint Managing Director (pictured above – second from the right) said: "We are delighted to receive the appointment and be given the opportunity of working with Worcestershire County Council in meeting the aspirations for the Contractor Framework. Speller Metcalfe employ over 120 local staff and workforce, for whom the Framework will provide a much needed morale boost and the chance to showcase their expertise and commitment to achieve construction excellence within their own local      communities."
