£4.5M leisure centre extension reaches completion in Bristol
The extension of Filton Leisure Centre in Bristol has now completed, creating a vibrant new look for the facility.
Regional contractor Speller Metcalfe were appointed to deliver the project and demolished the existing reception area and changing rooms to make room for the new extension and create a new single point of entry.

In order to ensure the new leisure centre meets the needs of the community, Active Nation worked alongside Filton Town Council throughout the duration of the project.

Designed by Watson Batty Architects, the extension includes a new reception area, café and soft play facility. In addition, the construction focused on expanding the amenities surrounding the swimming pool, including both wet and dry side changing, alongside improvements to the look and feel of the building.

A new viewing area is now located beside the pool and in close proximity to the new soft play facilities.
Speller Metcalfe also created additional carparking, an external changing room for football pitch users and completed the surrounding landscaping.
