Speller Metcalfe named on £375M DWP Estates Contractor Framework

Speller Metcalfe is one of the 17 contractors named on the new Department for Work and Pensions’ (DWP) Estates Contractor Framework.

The four-year framework will support DWP’s Estate which includes its call centre, Corporate Centre offices and their national network of Job Centre Plus Offices – totalling approximately 850 properties.

Works procured through the framework will include estate project fit-out for Job Centre Plus offices and minor works projects to support the general up-keep of existing buildings. It is expected that contracts will be awarded either by mini-competition between the approved contractors on each lot or direct award.

Speller Metcalfe has been placed on Lot 2 for projects and programmes valued between £250,000 and £2m and will serve the East & West Midlands, East Anglia and the South Wales and South West England regions.

Speller Metcalfe pre-construction director, James Speller said: “We are very pleased to have secured two places on the new Department for Work and Pensions framework and are looking forward to the opportunities that this will bring to our business.

“As well as winning a place in our key Midlands region, we have also been successful in securing a place in the South Wales and South West England regions.

“Part of our focus for 2018-19 and beyond is to increase our activity in the Welsh market and this framework win will provide us with key opportunities to further develop our profile and business activity across the border.”
