Speller Metcalfe announce record turnover in 2017

Midlands-based construction group Speller Metcalfe is targeting continued success as they announce a record turnover exceeding £141million – up 20% on 2016’s figures – and have maintained the previous years’ 73% increase in pre-tax profits.

The company which is headquartered in Malvern and works from offices in Gloucester, London and Wolverhampton also has their strongest ever forward order book in hand, providing a robust springboard for further controlled growth through 2018-2020.

Speller Metcalfe Group Managing Director Des O’Neill said: “Our increasingly healthy forward workload represents the high levels of confidence our clients have in Speller Metcalfe’s ability to deliver the very best results.”

Last year was undoubtedly a difficult one for the construction industry and we have been working hard to streamline our processes and improve practices across the group to be able to best meet our clients’ needs and to bolster and protect our position as one of the UK’s leading contractors.”

At Speller Metcalfe we believe construction should always be delivered honestly, fairly and collaboratively, and it is this open, people-first approach that continues to win us some of the UK’s most exciting, sustainable and innovative projects.”

Speller Metcalfe was also hugely successful throughout 2017 in securing framework appointments which open doors to billions of pounds worth of potential works, including places on Homes & Communities Agency DPP3, Private Investment Consortium, LHC Schools and Community Buildings and the Education and Skills Funding Agency frameworks, amongst others.

Speller Metcalfe was named ‘Contractor of the Year’ at the 2017 Building Awards.
