HEALTH & SAFETY ASSEMBLY FOR TIBBERTON FIRST SCHOOL PUPILS
The school is situated close to a live building site on Hawthorn Rise where Speller Metcalfe are currently building 10 homes for Rooftop Housing Group and a new village hall.
Children at the school were given an interactive assembly by Speller Metcalfe’s Health & Safety Manager, Tony Bakewell, who was joined by company mascot Buzz Sitegear. They learnt about the potential risks and hazards around construction sites, how to recognise warning signs and the importance of wearing protective equipment.
Health & Safety Manager, Tony Bakewell said: “Whenever we have a site near to a school we try to engage with the local community by working closely with teachers and pupils to raise awareness of the dangers posed by building sites in a fun and engaging way”.
