CPD EVENT SERIES KICKS OFF IN BIRMINGHAM

The April event took place at Birmingham City Council, and was well attended by over 80 delegates from across the region and further afield (SEE LIST BELOW).

Presentations were delivered by three industry-leading external speakers; Fiona Moore, an expert in the field of BIM and a member of the Government’s BIM Task Group talked through the journey of BIM and expectations moving forward.

With updates to CDM regulations delivered only in April, Speller Metcalfe invited Health & Safety expert Fraser Gregory to talk about changes to regulations with Fraser answering various questions from architects through to consultants about how these changes will affect individuals and businesses in 2015.

Finally Louise Lado-Byrnes, Director of Integrated Project Initiatives and owner of one of the three new government procurement initiatives, Integrated Project Insurance (IPI), talked through Construction 2025 – something many in industry are just starting to get to grips with.

“The morning event was a great success,” said Steve Speller, Joint Managing Director at Speller Metcalfe. “For Speller Metcalfe sharing best practice through collaborative working has and always will be key to delivering innovative projects that are at the forefront of industry.

“The only way we can continue to do this is by working with our project colleagues and raising awareness of industry issues and topics that generate discussion and enable sharing of knowledge.”

Following the success of the April event, Speller Metcalfe will be delivering two further events in June and September (June 25th / September 24th).

The June event will cover:

  • Soft landings
  • The Social Value Act
  • Collaborative Working

Time: 08:30 – 10:30 with coffee and pastries provided

Place: Birmingham City Council
