NEW LEASE OF LIFE FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL
Three classrooms which had previously been separate spaces with cloakroom facilities were knocked through into one large open space that has created a light and airy working environment for pupils.
As well as remodelling the spaces, roof lights were incorporated to increase natural daylighting, which is also apparent along the main school hallway corridor.
Along with the redesigned spaces, an external canopy area was built to provide a covered walkway for the children, as well as a feature 'wavy wall' and full fit out of classroom spaces.
Speller Metcalfe worked closely with Zebra Architects to make the School's plans into reality: "Speller Metcalfe understand the importance of preparation and collaboration in order to meet the tight deadlines set. Through their effective planning, the works progressed with minimal disruption which was a key concern for the Head teacher, who was particularly impressed," said Chris Partington, MD at Zebra Architects.
