Double celebrations at the South West Property Awards 2020

Speller Metcalfe has double reasons to celebrate having taken home two awards at the inaugural Insider South West Residential Property Awards on Thursday 30th January.

The new awards ceremony – organised and ran by Insider South West – has been launched to celebrate the region’s landmark developments and the developers, architects and advisors that make them happen.

Brandon Yard in Bristol was named Best Small Residential Development and Cotswold Gardens in Willersey won Care and Later Living Development of the Year.

Located in a prime position on Bristol’s harbourside, Acorn Property Group’s Brandon Yard development was highlighted for overcoming many challenges – including being a listed site that had sat derelict for more than 40 years – to develop an impressive 58-home, luxury waterside development.

Speller Metcalfe’s second award of the night went to over 55s development, Cotswold Gardens in Willersey near Broadway. Built for client Blue Cedar Homes, the luxury development was praised for the use of slate tiles and traditional Cotswold stone to blend the new properties seamlessly into the picturesque surrounding area.

Another Speller Metcalfe development – Oak Tree Avenue in Pucklechurch, Bristol – was also shortlisted and narrowly missed out on the Social Housing award.

Speller Metcalfe joint managing director Andy Metcalfe, said: “As one of our key areas of operation, we are absolutely delighted to have had three projects recognised at these new regional awards.

“Speller Metcalfe has a long history of delivering projects and working with clients across the south west and it’s brilliant to see the region’s residential developments and companies celebrated with a new awards ceremony.

“Brandon Yard, Cotswold Gardens and Oak Tree Avenue are brilliant, high-quality residential projects, all of a very different size and scope to one another and testament to the huge diversity of schemes our skilled teams are able to deliver.”
