DONATION TO MARK THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW OPERATING THEATRE

The completion of the project in September this year is set to improve facilities for both staff and patients.

Speller Metcalfe and Cheltenham General Hospital have had an on-going relationship following the completion of the St Paul’s orthopaedic theatre in 2012. Witnessing the dedication of staff to offering patients high quality and specialist care over the years has influenced Speller Metcalfe’s decision to give back to the community themselves.

After noticing that there was a lack of seating outside the hospital for visitors, staff and patients waiting for transport the construction company decided to donate and install a set of benches, creating an outdoor waiting area.

Steve Budding, Site Manager at Speller Metcalfe explained the significance of the donation: “Building in a working part of the hospital has allowed us to witness the tremendous work that the staff do. It was important to Speller Metcalfe to give back to the hospital by creating a comfortable outdoor waiting area for patients, staff and visitors.

“We are really happy that the donated benches have made a pleasant sheltered area for all, which will be especially welcomed once the winter weather sets in.’
