Charity Cycle Ride for Local Children’s Hospice

The Hospice is being supported by Malvern building contractor Speller Metcalfe, who has organised a 50 mile cycle route for the general public around Worcester and Malvern on Sunday, 13 May 2012, for those who wish to enjoy a day out and raise money for the Charity.

The route begins and ends at Colwall Village Hall, with free refreshments on hand for all participants throughout the morning. Families are welcome to come along and support riders, however cyclist participants must be over 18.

Carole Crowe, Community Fundraising Manager for the Three Counties, said:  “This wonderful sponsored event organised by Speller Metcalfe is well-timed as Acorns urgently needs donations.  Acorns care for more than 200 life-limited children and their families in Worcestershire and the Three Counties.  There is no charge to families for using the services but it does cost £7,500 per day to run each of Acorns’ three children’s hospices and we rely on voluntary donations for the majority of this income.

“We hope people will support the team at Speller Metcalfe by joining the cycle ride and sponsoring the participants.”

Registration costs £15 and material such as sponsorship and maps can be obtained via email from PR Manager, Kim Davidson; kim.davidson@spellermetcalfe.com. Please also get in touch if you would like to help out as a volunteer on the day.
