WATCH THE EVERYMAN THEATRE RESTORATION

The works were completed in a tight deadline of just 17 weeks due to the schedule programme of performances, and with a great deal of preparation and toolbox talks with our supply chain, the building was given an internal overhaul including structural repairs, lighting and ventilation improvements, new ceilings and a huge amount of restoration work to original artwork and features such as adorning cherubs and pillars. The Theatre has since won the regional Constructing Excellence 'Heritage' award and has been shortlisted for the national awards in November 2012.

Since its restoration the Theatre – which dates back to 1891 – has once again become a popular place with theatre groups and audiences, as well as providing educational opportunities for students in the area.

You can now watch a video online of the works taking place and the final outcome of the theatre, narrated by Chief Executive of the Everyman Theatre, Geoffrey Rowe.
