SPELLER METCALFE EVENT FOCUSES ON GROWTH IN WEST MIDLANDS

The event saw three presentations delivered by industry-leading external speakers. Ian Macleod, Assistant Director of Planning and Regeneration at Birmingham City Council was invited to speak about growth in the city and the Birmingham 2031 Plan for Sustainable Development.

Continuing a regional theme, Simon Marks, City Executive for Greater Birmingham and Partner at Arcadis, spoke about Economic Renaissance in the West Midlands, focusing on how public and private sector Partnership working is driving economic growth in the region.

Finally, Gill Payne, Executive Director for Public Impact at the National Housing Federation presented An Ambition to Deliver – Working together to Deliver Great Places to Live where she discussed the importance of collaborative working in solving the housing crisis.

Attendee Dominique Talbot from MVS Group commenting on the event said: ‘’It was a truly inspiring session about how together we can unlock the full potential of the ‘Midlands Engine’ and deliver a strong and prosperous future for the region through construction activity today. In essence, ‘our future is now’.

Speller Metcalfe Knowledge Series events are formally CPD accredited meaning that delegates are awarded with a certificate and CPD points for their attendance. The 2017 calendar of Knowledge Series events continues with two further events in October (4th October in Birmingham, 10th October in Bristol).
