SPELLER METCALFE CYCLE FROM LONDON TO PARIS FOR NATIONAL STAR

National Star are a Cheltenham based charity, helping individuals with disabilities reach their full potential through the provision of specialist education, training and residential services.

Through their involvement in various projects, including the construction of fully accessible specialist accommodation in Pittville in 2015, Speller Metcalfe has seen first-hand the life changing care and support offered by National Star who are celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2017.

The team of six riders were made up from staff across Speller Metcalfe’s Gloucester, Malvern and Wolverhampton offices; Andy Metcalfe, Jon Fisher & his son Jack, Marc Woods, Sam Minett-Smith and Alex Garwood-Gowers.

Andy said “National Star have now been making a difference to the lives of people with a wide range of disabilities for over 50 years so we felt this was a great opportunity to celebrate their landmark year and raise awareness of the fantastic work they do.”

Gill Henry, Head of Fundraising at National Star said: “Almost every single facility at National Star has benefited from the incredible community support we receive”

“The support of the Speller Metcalfe team, and the money they raise, will enable us to provide the same high level of care and provision in years to come.”

The unassisted ride began in Epsom on the morning of Thursday 14th September before reaching Paris and traveling back to the UK. The fundraising efforts of their ride have so far reached over £3000. To donate, visit www.justgiving.com/fundraising/spellermetcalfe-cycle.
