Speller Metcalfe to build £1m office for animal charity Blue Cross

Pet charity Blue Cross has selected construction company Speller Metcalfe to build a new £1M office building at their headquarters in Burford, Oxfordshire.

The two-storey, Cotswold stone building has been designed by Midlands-based architects Gould Singleton and will feature large, open plan office spaces on both the ground floor and first floor, as well as enhanced storage, private offices and a new meeting room. The existing car park will also be extended to provide 50 spaces for staff and visitors to the centre.

The charity currently operates across two sites in Burford and Carterton and the new building will allow staff to work from a centralised location, helping support growing business demands and enhance the services the charity provides.

Regional building firm Speller Metcalfe, who work from offices in the midlands, south west and London, started work on site in the middle of June.

Speller Metcalfe divisional director Bill Cave said: “We are very pleased to be working new client Blue Cross on their exciting head office expansion plans.

Speller Metcalfe has extensive experience in creating modern, flexible office spaces and we are looking forward to seeing the new building take shape over the coming months.”

Blue Cross director of finance, Iain Heaton said: “We’re delighted to be bringing our teams together on one site and look forward to the project being completed next year.”

Work on the new office is set to complete in January 2020.
