CARPENTRY APPRENTICE JOSH UP FOR AWARD

Josh successfully beat off many rivals to make it through to the nominees, following his successful work alongside Speller Metcalfe.

Now in his second year at Gloucestershire College, Josh is currently working at one of our prestigious listed building sites, Hill Top Farm in Martley, Worcestershire. Works began as a restoration and refurbishment of a cow brier and feed loft before Speller Metclafe were retained to continue the phased re-development of the dilapidated farm buildings and main Georgian period farm house.

Andy Metcalfe, Joint Managing Director for Speller Metcalfe, said: “Speller Metcalfe place great emphasis on seeking out and supporting talented young people who have a passion for construction and the drive and ambition to be future leaders in our industry.

“When we were recruiting for an apprentice carpenter, Josh stood out head and shoulders above the other candidates. He is an excellent example of all that a good apprentice should aspire to be and is a fantastic role model to promote the construction industry and training available in Gloucestershire.”
