£4bn Westworks Construction Framework success for Speller Metcalfe

National building contractor Speller Metcalfe is celebrating being appointed to the newly formed Westworks and ‘Collaboration’ Consortia Development Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS).

The DPS has been created by Westworks and the collaboration consortia to support the delivery of housing and other associated projects across England and Wales, and has a maximum projected spend of £4bn.

The continually expanding collaboration consortium is currently made up of a number of not-for-profit organisations including Westworks, Efficiency East Midlands, South East Consortium and Advantage Southwest.

Speller Metcalfe has been successful as a supplier on all four framework lots, which include the design and build of housing and non-housing developments ranging from 1 – 40+ units as well as major refurbishment and remodelling projects.

Pre-construction Manager for Speller Metcalfe’s Living Division, Rob Ackerman said: “We are delighted to continue working with Westworks as a supplier on the new DPS.

“The opportunities presented to us through Westworks have provided a strong pipeline of work for our Living division and have helped us to continue to build our housebuilding presence across the South West, including most recently being appointed to build 5 houses in Woodchester for Stroud District Council and a 37-unit development in Bridgwater for Yarlington Housing Group.”

Other schemes delivered by Speller Metcalfe through Westworks’ previous framework include 35 affordable sustainable homes in Knowle for Livewest, 14 homes in Cam for Stroud District Council and eight affordable apartments for Alliance Homes in Weston-Super-Mare.

Westworks CEO, Cliff Woodward said: “Speller Metcalfe has been one of the most successful contractors on the previous Westworks framework winning over £11m worth of new build work in the South and West regions. They have proven to be a popular contractor with Registered Providers of Housing because of their attitude, quality and, of course, value.”
