£18M REDEVELOPMENT WITH CITY OF WOLVERHAMPTON COUNCIL

The £18 million scheme is the fourth project for Speller Metcalfe, delivering the scheme from our regional Wolverhampton offices.

Previously, the team has undertaken the relocation of the Urban Traffic Control Centre unit to the mezzanine level of the Civic Centre as part of a £750,000 scheme in the summer of 2015. This included installation of new traffic control monitoring facilities, expansion of the data centre and new offices while working within the live site at the Civic Centre.

The City of Wolverhampton Council has also identified need for regeneration in the area, and at the start of 2016 Speller Metcalfe relocated the existing Wolverhampton market to sit adjacent to Market Square in the city centre.

The £875,000 project had to ensure the market could remain operational throughout, with intentions that the existing 1960's market hall will eventually be demolished to make way for a new development.

Finally we are also undertaking a £700,000 fast track programme for the council to refurbish the Grand Theatre over the summer holiday period in 2016.
