The job

Due to business growth we are seeking a new MEP Manager to join our team, based out of our Wolverhampton office. Reporting to the Senior MEP Manager, in this role, you will have responsibility for the preconstruction and on-site coordination of Mechanical and Electrical works on projects undertaken by Speller Metcalfe Construction.

Working as a support service to the preconstruction and project delivery teams, the MEP Manager will contribute significantly to the continued success and growth of Speller Metcalfe and will be expected to meet personal development targets, project goals and business targets.

This is a ‘blended working’ role split between home, construction sites and the Wolverhampton office.

How you’ll contribute

In this busy role, you will:

  • Be an integral support service member of the preconstruction and project delivery teams, tendering & co-ordinating the Mechanical & Electrical elements through all stages of numerous construction projects.
  • Provide technical assistance to the preconstruction team through collating MEP Tender pack information, reviewing tender information and ensuring all tenders are compliant.
  • Produce a detailed MEP Tender Sum Analysis and present it to the Bid team to allow the selection of the most suitable SCP.
  • Provide technical assistance to the project delivery team to supervise site works undertaken by the MEP Supply Chain Partner, ensuring quality records necessary to meet quality requirements are maintained with the use of Fieldwire.
  • Undertake Project Reports for each Project and issue around the team and provide assistance to the Project teams on all aspects of the coordination of the MEP Commissioning activities.
  • Provide input to witnessing / demonstration and handover documents such as the Health & Safety File, Technical files, O&M Manuals, and commissioning records.
  • Meet with designers and MEP supply chain partners on a regular basis to monitor progress of the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning works against the contract programme.
  • Identify potential project risks and take appropriate mitigation action in accordance with contract requirements, introducing improvements and innovations where appropriate.

 

Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will bring your enthusiasm and determination as well as:

Essential

  • Experience in a similar role within a Building Services Contracting or in a Consultancy
  • Mechanical bias supplemented with Electrical experience / knowledge
  • Proven track record in publicly funded Projects

Desirable

  • Membership of professional body (e.g., CIBSE) is beneficial
  • Relevant Engineering degree/diploma or related discipline required
