The job

As a MEP manager, you will lead the successful delivery of building services from the pre-construction phase through to construction, commissioning and handover.

The main tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Act as the organisational group fulcrum for the co-ordination of building
    services design & installation.
  • Ensure holistic oversight of external design consultants & subcontractors
    engagement.
  • Review preconstruction design information and comment in relation to
    technical compliance and initiation of Value Engineering ideas.
  • Working with Estimating staff and Client’s cost advisors to assess supply
    chain tender returns to ensure robust proposals in terms of cost and
    compliance.
  • Monitor and manage external design consultant & subcontractor
    performance during PCSA and project delivery periods, supporting internal
    project Operational team where issues arise.
  • Advise on project specific design appointment scopes.
  • Interact with the BIM Manager and Design Management teams to support
    design co-ordination on projects.
  • Input into Modern Methods of Construction where relevant to building
    services.
  • Attend design and client meetings when necessary, including project
    interviews.
  • Support project programme delivery requirements including management
    of MEP installation & commissioning periods.
  • Support in developing soft landings strategies for projects.
  • Support the implementation of Quality Control procedures (e.g. Fieldwire
    ITPs) specific to MEP installation
  • Chairing MEP project co-ordination meetings.
  • Representing the group at client interviews and key meetings
  • Assistance in problem solving any defects or latent defects relating to MEP
    installations.

Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will bring your enthusiasm and determination as well as:

Experience

  • Building Services Manager, minimum of 5 years in a similar role within a Main Contractor preferred but not essential
  • Preconstruction & Operational experience essential
  • Experience in both Mechanical & Electrical works

Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree in Building Services desired but not essential
  • Ability to undertake multiple projects concurrently

The successful candidate will be provided with training and mentoring as required.

This is a full-time position, with core working hours between 08:30 – 17:00.
