Speller Metcalfe was contracted by client Hortons’ Estate to carry out site remediation and the construction of 6 new retail units in Lichfield.
The 10-acre site situated on Eastern Avenue, next to Lichfield City Football Club, was previously a manufacturing facility owned by Norgreen, and has been redeveloped by Horton’s Estates to become the new Imperial Retail Park. The retail park features a range of large units including a drive-thru Costa and a 26,000 sq.ft Lidl food store.
Speller Metcalfe worked with SRA Architects to design and deliver a further four retail units to shell-standard, totalling over 42,000 sq.ft. Extensive external works were carried out on site to deliver a 292-space car park.
The new Lidl will replace the existing Lidl in Lichfield so programming was carefully managed to ensure the store’s smooth relocation.
