Bourton-on-the-Water Primary Academy

Working alongside Gloucestershire County Council and Quattro Architects we have completed a series of remodelling and alteration works as part of a multi-phase scheme to the existing Bourton-on-the-Water Primary Academy.

Initial phases involved a major reconfiguration of the original Victorian school building to create new administrative areas, a new Key Stage 2 classroom and an extension to the school hall to provide a new kitchen and servery.

A welcoming new entrance and reception area also allows a better flow of pupils and visitors in and out of the building.

The final phase of the £1.8m programme was the creation of new Early Years and Reception classrooms alongside a new play area, which was completed alongside improved drainage and a new mains supply to bring utilities up to date.

The project was delivered in a live school environment, requiring careful collaborative planning during the programming and design stages to ensure minimal disruption and that a safe environment was maintained at all times.

Speller Metcalfe was selected for the scheme through the Gloucestershire County Council Major Construction Works Framework.
