University of Worcester

Speller Metcalfe has worked closely with the University of Worcester for a number of years, undertaking a series of facilities management, refurbishment and design and build projects for the University.

All projects have been competitively tendered and include:

• Design and build of the Student Union including an upgrade to the Costa Coffee café and remodelling the gymnasium in the Sheila Scott building into classrooms;
• Complete refurbishment of the Pierson Library to create a more energy efficient space, improving natural ventilation and upgrading of facilities;
• Various ‘Summer Works’ programmes delivered each year including remodelling of classrooms, masonry alterations, M&E upgrades, new science laboratories, dining hall refurbishment, corridor and toilet refurb and drama studio refurb;
• Refurbishment and upgrading of various teaching spaces and halls of residences across both St Johns and City Campuses;
• External repairs to the historic Charles Hasting Building;
• Refurbishment and remodelling works at the Jenny Lind building to form the University’s new Law School;
• Refurbishment of the Elgar Science Labs, including new lift, chemical store and M&E upgrades

Speller Metcalfe has recently retained it’s place on the University’s contractor framework for projects being delivered over the next 3-4 years.
