Redditch Police & Fire Hub

Project

Redditch Police & Fire Hub

Speller Metcalfe was contracted to deliver the new Redditch Police & Fire Hub.

The disused brownfield site was located next to the existing fire station, and has been transformed to make way for the brand new £17.50 million, three-storey building.

The new building is set to improve delivery services for local residents, strengthen joint response to emergency incidents and replace outdated provision.

Predominantly an administrative hub, both services now share a range of amenities including a kitchen, gym, toilets, conference and meeting rooms, with additional fire service facilities consisting of a new accommodation unit, drill tower and appliance bay for three service vehicles.

Externally, the site houses a large car park to serve both staff and site visitors.

The project included a number of energy efficient features including air source heat pumps and EV car charging points.

Designed by Bond Bryan Architects, the project has been built to the highly sustainable BREEAM Good standard.

The scheme was procured through the PAGABO medium works framework.
