Part of Finham Park Multi Academy Trust, Speller Metcalfe was contracted to deliver works to support the expansion of Finham Park School, both in terms of pupil numbers and the physical space available.
The works compromised of the construction of a brand new, two-storey teaching block that provides:
- Additional classrooms with flexibility for dual examination space;
- Dance and drama studio;
- Music production suite and practice rooms;
- Outdoor performance space via a new covered terrace;
- Offices;
- Careers hub;
- Refectory for 180 pupils;
- State-of-the-art kitchens.
The building also facilitates an increase in sports provision with another football pitch, relocated cricket square and new cricket nets.
Overall, the new facilities have enabled the school to accommodate the extra 180 students who it is anticipated will join the school over the next five years, supporting the joint vision of the Multi Academy Trust, Coventry City Council and the Department for Education to providing a vibrant Performing Arts education as part of a broad and balanced curriculum for students in Coventry.
