Project

Hereford & Worcester Fire & Rescue

This project incorporated a third floor refurbishment to the existing Fire and Rescue building, in order to provide a regional control room for the service.

Speller Metcalfe was responsible for the design, refurbishment and complete re-fit out of the new control room, which incorporated high-specification acoustic insulation and security partitioning that had to be signed off by MI5, alongside minor internal demolition, remodelling and strip out.

Alongside the control centre, the HR personnel offices were also refurbished, with all works being undertaken in a live environment. All building works were completed throughout difficult access conditions due to the site location on the third floor.

Client testimonial:

“The active and engaged approach which Speller Metcalfe brought to the development of the detailed design and production pack allowed work to commence on site somewhat earlier than many had thought possible. The continuation of this constructive approach on site ensured that, despite a number of both anticipated and unanticipated problems, the project was sufficiently completed by the target date. The FRS remains very grateful to Speller Metcalfe for their commitment to providing the necessary level and quality of service which has underpinned this project.”
