Campion School

Project

Campion School

Procured through the PAGABO framework, Speller Metcalfe was contracted to deliver the Phase 2 works at Campion School to both improve and expand facilities for students.

These included a new build, two-storey sixth form block; the flat-roofed building was been designed to create a bold entrance to the school – elevated above the ground levels of the neighbouring road network, but screened from view by the hedges and vegetation on the boundary between the school site and neighbouring supermarket.

Alongside external landscaping works and improvements to the access from the roundabout to the school, the team also demolished and re-constructed the existing sports hall and new multi-use games area (MUGA).

There was also be the roof replacement and full refurbishment of seven existing science rooms and a technicians room turning them in general teaching rooms and a staff room.

Finally the existing Forge area was converted into a drama studio and a ‘Grab and Go’ refectory.
