Peterchurch Police Station

Project

Peterchurch Police Station

The project consisted of the construction of a new build two-storey community police station on an existing police station site, which was extremely tight. In addition the existing police station was to be kept live and functioning 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for both police and public access. The site was bound on two sides by public footpaths and a busy road to the front.

Following the construction of the new premises, internal fit out works included the provision of a specialist ‘front counter’ to West Mercia Police’s latest specifications, first floor accommodation including an internal glazed office pod for the senior station officer, kitchen and toilet facilities and showering provisions.

Upon completion of the new station, the old station was demolished and the external pavings extended and completed. The new garage is also accessed from the main building via a glazed link.

The project was nominated for the Prime Minister’s ‘Better Building Award.’
