Speller Metcalfe is on site delivering major improvements to Wolverhampton City Centre’s Central Library and Adult Education facilities as part of the £61 million Phase Two City Learning Quarter development.
The project includes the redevelopment of the Central Library, where the ground floor Adult Lending Library reached completion in January 2026. Façade works to the Grade II* listed Snow Hill elevation and the new entrance lobby are due to follow, alongside a new roof, internal remodelling, enhanced public facilities and landscaping.
In parallel, Adult Education Wolverhampton’s Alan Garner Centre on Old Hall Street is undergoing internal remodelling, with a two-storey glazed link building currently under construction to connect it directly to the Central Library’s 1930s extension.
