Working towards social, economic and environmental longevity

When we talk about sustainability in construction, we’re referring to minimising the negative impacts and maximising the positive outcomes we can have as a contractor – striving to achieve a balance across the environment, economy and society while delivering our construction projects and the future operation of the building(s).

At Speller Metcalfe, this principal extends beyond the projects we deliver; as one of our core values, sustainability shapes our overall approach to how we do business. We aspire to work collaboratively with our clients, consultants, wider supply chain partners and stakeholders to realise the best potential of a building from concept through to construction – continually taking our learning forward to support the betterment of the wider industry.

Environmental sustainability

By managing the environments we build in, we can make sure that our impact is a positive one; helping to improve and protect habitats, reusing and recycling materials, minimising our construction-phase carbon and supporting the local economy – both during construction and beyond. These efforts contribute to a healthier environment and a more sustainable future.
