Broadway Campus decarbonisation

Project

Broadway Campus decarbonisation

Currently heated by gas boilers, these were decommissioned in advance of the installation of two air source heat pumps, which were installed while all remaining radiators and pipework remain in situ for cost saving purposes.

Each of the two pumps requires 600kw of power, and subsequently a new transformer was been installed with the National Grid having to upgrade the local power supply in order to feed the pumps, making this a major project with complex requirements and intense collaboration.

As well as the air source heat pumps, 90% of the building’s windows were being replaced to reinsulate the building as much as possible, alongside the replacement of a new roof, ensuring the building will perform to a high standard and retain warmth during colder months.

The project was procured through the Pagabo framework.
