Speller Metcalfe was contracted to complete the new macular treatment centre in Harrison House, Taunton.
This new facility is the third Speller Metcalfe have completed for the Ophthalmology team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust , with the new macular treatment centre being located in the same building as the existing ophthalmology diagnostic centre which was delivered by Speller Metcalfe in 2022, alongside a second centre at Quedam Shopping Centre in Yeovil.
Located on the Blackbrook Park Estate, just off the M5 in Taunton, the new facility now means that over 300 patients a week can be seen at Harrison House, rather than having to go to a busy hospital for their ophthalmology appointments.
The facility includes two new consulting and treatment rooms which are all purpose built with high-quality air filtration technology.
Harrison House now features both diagnostics and treatment facilities on one site, allowing the macular treatments on offer to patients to be increased.
The facility was constructed on behalf of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.
