The job

Due to growth in our order book, we are seeking Quantity Surveyors to join our high-performing commercial team, based out of our Wolverhampton office. Our Quantity Surveyors are experts in their field and are an essential part of the team, commercially managing projects to ensure they are procured and delivered to required outcomes. They maintain and develop our commercial processes and procedures and apply best practice and a continuous improvement approach, to maximise returns in terms of profit. This is a ‘blended working’ role split between home and the office/sites (2 days per week at home).

How You’ll Contribute

In this busy role, you will:

  • work closely with the team to support the placing of robust subcontractor trade orders in a timely manner; ensuring main contract risks are passed on.
  • provide support to preconstruction where necessary including feedback from live projects.
  • ensure that the company’s procedures and documentation are being adhered to.
  • lead in the preparation of the PEP and continual review of the document.
  • ensure all subcontractor payments are made in a timely manner and in accordance with order agreements, in accordance with the Construction Act.
  • ensure all notices to subcontractors are issued in the required time frames.
  • prepare cost value reports and cost to complete forecasts for monthly review with the commercial manager and leadership teams in line with the agreed reporting timetable.
  • maintain a positive project cashflow; manage and minimise nonrecoverable costs on a project.
  • monitor & evaluate the value of works packages through physical re-measure of works carried out on site, notifying any potential issues to the commercial lead.
  • manage and minimise nonrecoverable costs on a project.
  • review and ensure all contract final accounts are submitted and agreed in a timely manner.
  • ensure that all contractual correspondence is produced in an acceptable format and in a timely manner.
  • close liaison with the client and clients cost control representative to provide proactive advice on project costs.
  • ensure all valuations are submitted and received in accordance with agreed valuation schedules.


Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will bring your enthusiasm and determination as well as:


  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying or related area
  • Experience in Quantity Surveying related to projects up to £20m in delivery value
