The job

Due to business growth, we are seeking a new Estimator join our Living team, based out of our Malvern office. Our specialist Living division has a long history of building high quality homes for a variety of schemes including shared ownership and private sales as well as acquiring land.

Reporting to the Pre-Construction Manager, in this role you will complete accurate cost estimates for construction projects through developing, evaluating, compiling, and presenting the scope of work and cost data for construction bids.

This is a ‘blended working’ role split between home and sites, working onsite (office or sites) approximately 3 days per week.

How You’ll Contribute

In these busy roles, you will:

  • Assist with PQQ submissions, review tender launch documents and lead Tender Launch meetings
  • Measure or coordinate the measure of tender drawings to meet the tender deadline
  • Identify risks and opportunities, recording risks on the tender risk register
  • Attend tender design review meetings in order to ensure the bid team achieve the most economically advantageous bid
  • Assist the planner in producing draft preliminaries where required in line with the tender programme
  • Liaise with planners, design managers and pre-construction managers to deliver innovative solutions
  • Assess build costs, technical constraints, planning advice, programme, specifications
  • Value engineering – provide advice and costs associated with value engineering proposals for the scheme
  • Provide data to supply chain management as necessary
  • Obtain tender feedback and provide input in post tender queries/negotiations
  • Organise and prepare Tender Handover meeting and related documentation
  • Assist with the Cost Library and provide cost plan support to external consultants

Who are we looking for?
