The job

Due to business growth, we are seeking a new Design Coordinator join our Design team, based out of our Malvern office. This is a key role for the team which will see you co-ordinating preconstruction & construction phase design deliverables, ensuring co-ordination right through to client handover stage. Reporting to our Design Manager, this is a ‘blended working’ role split between home and sites, working on site or at the office approximately 3 days per week.

How you’ll contribute:

In this busy role, you will:

  • Assist in the organisation of meetings for the design team in conjunction with our design responsibilities matrix and the schedule of services for each design consultant.
  • Produce the Design Release Schedule in coordination with the project programme and procurement schedule.
  • Monitor the release of design information against the agreed Design Release Schedule.
  • Provide technical design-related advice as necessary to the Client/project team.
  • Encourage innovative cost-effective solutions through the review of design and specifications.
  • Compile SAP/SBEM information for submission and compliance with Building Regulations.
  • Input into the achievement of environmental assessment schemes for Buildings, such as BREEAM & Passivhaus and working with the design team to ensure the design complies with CDM regulations.
  • Ensure that planning conditions, building control approvals, section agreements and any other scheme specific standards are signed off in a timely manner.
  • Obtain Service / Utilities connections / disconnections quotes for projects.
  • Work with a range of external specialists such as Ecologists and Arboriculturists to determine what is required for the project.
  • Input into delivering projects using Building Information Management (BIM) workflows.


Who are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you will bring your enthusiasm and determination as well as:


  • Demonstrated Design Experience in the construction industry
  • Experience in the compilation of Weekly / monthly reports as dictated by the project
  • Skilled in the monitoring of design outputs against design deliverable schedules including remedial cause of action as required.
  • Experience confirming that all relevant standards are adhered to and that technical governance and sign off is adhered to
  • Ability to contribute to the production of the design cost for individual schemes.
