The job

Due to business growth, we are seeking a new Assistant Design Co-Ordinator join our design team, based out of our Malvern office. This is a fantastic role for you if you’re looking to grow your career in construction. Working closely with our Design Co-Ordinator and in conjunction with the wider design team, you will have the chance to get involved with co-ordinating preconstruction & construction phase design deliverables and to see how design is implemented throughout construction projects, right through to client handover stage. Reporting to our Design Manager, this is a ‘blended working’ role split between home and sites, working onsite (office or sites) approximately 3 days per week.

How you’ll contribute:

In this busy role, you will:

  • Work with the Design Co-Ordinator to coordinate the flow of information between all key stakeholders – consultants/sub-contractors/site/client.
  • Assist the in organisation of meetings for the design team in conjunction with our design responsibilities matrix and the schedule of services for each design consultant.
  • Learn how to produce the Design Release Schedule in coordination with the project programme and procurement schedule.
  • Assist in the compilation of SAP/SBEM information for submission and compliance with Building Regulations.
  • With the support of the Design Co-Ordinator, input into the achievement of environmental assessment schemes for Buildings, such as BREEAM & Passivhaus and work with the design team to grow your understanding of CDM regulations.
  • Help co-ordinate the process of ensuring that planning conditions, building control approvals, section agreements and any other scheme specific standards are signed off in a timely manner.
  • With support, obtain Service / Utilities connections / disconnections quotes for projects.
  • Work with a range of external specialists such as Ecologists and Arboriculturists to determine what is required for the project.
  • With support, input into delivering projects using Building Information Management (BIM) workflows.

  • Degree or equivalent vocational qualifications as a minimum (Construction management or Building Design/Architecture or other relevant subject)
  • Demonstrable work experience of construction projects
