Southern Construction Framework (SCF) announces successful bidders for £5.16 billion residential framework
Southern Construction Framework (SCF) today announced the successful bidders for its new £5.16bn Residential Delivery & Development Framework.
The leading construction procurement framework is delivered by the public sector for the public sector in the South of England.
Speller Metcalfe successfully bid for the Smaller Value (10-75 Units), which is being rolled out across in seven sub-lot regions, and focused on local delivery: “We are absolutely delighted to have successfully tendered for a position on the Southern Construction Framework,” said Mark Eaton, Living Manager at Speller Metcalfe. “The new residential delivery arm suits our expertise extremely well, where we will focus predominantly on supporting our Bristol and Gloucestershire regions.”
Created to support public sector residential construction and development in the region, SCF Residential is a four-year framework available to all public bodies in the South East, London and the South West.
It gives each public body access to market-leading, tier one and SME housebuilders and has been designed to be flexible and responsive to industry pressures, including carbon, MMC and the ongoing housing crisis.
Through SCF Residential, public sector organisations can now access a full range of residential construction and development solutions. This includes access to leading local housebuilders; traditional, design and build and turnkey end-to-end development, construction, and management services.
A commitment to provide a trustworthy, equitable, and ethical vehicle for delivery underpins the framework.
SCF is the market leader in Two Stage Open Book (2SOB) tendering, under which the framework will operate exclusively. This government-recommended bidding process is part of an initiative to reform UK construction practices and is unique in the way it brings the contractor, stakeholders and suppliers together at the very start of a construction project.
Matthew Elliott, SCF Senior Framework Manager said: “The successful bidders offer public sector organisations a fantastic breadth of experience and expertise ideally tuned to the needs of the current housing market. We have built this framework around our ethos and practice of collaboration, transparency and added value, with a focus on social value and supporting carbon and environmental impacts.”
This new deal complements the current SCF Construct and SCF Consult frameworks which have delivered over £7 billion worth of combined construction schemes in the last 14 years since they were first established.
